The Gospel is for everyone who seeks....

Christine is a friend of Satty from Sitio Bakong, Loakan, Itogon. She’s been the lay leader of the Catholic healing ministry in Beckel for 8 years. She asked me to hold a Bible study among her healing team community. Many followed her. Also many people come to her for healing and prayer. Her heart is really set to serving God. But due to her ignorance of the Word she insisted that her spirit guide was the Spirit of God Himself. She performs healing and some were miraculously healed from sickness. Some Catholics would call her ‘cult’ but she ignored because anyway, she’s not asking for payment. She was only obedient to ‘the voice’. Those who were healed would donate some amount of money and so they were able to build a two-storey building for their healing mission. I found later that her way of ministering to her team was through the revelation of her spirit guide whom she consulted for most of the times. I could not really judge if she’s a cult because her heart is open to God and His Word. God would sometimes woke me up at 4:00 am and gave me these passages. Upon knowing that the name of her guide is “I am he”, only makes me more fearful that she has been deceived and misled by the spirit guide who is the devil himself. It is very clear in 1Jn 4:1 “My dear friends do not believe all who claim to have the Spirit, but test them to find out if the spirit they have comes from God. For many false prophets have gone out everywhere. 1Jn 4:2 This is how you will be able to know whether it is God's Spirit: anyone who acknowledges that Jesus Christ came as a human being has the Spirit who comes from God. 1Jn 4:3 But anyone who denies this about Jesus does not have the Spirit from God. The spirit that she has is from the enemy of Christ; you heard that it would come, and now it is here in the world already.”
That one should be guided by no other spirit than the Spirit of God. Another passage in Mat 24:4 Jesus answered, "Watch out, and do not let anyone fool you. Mat 24:5 Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am the Messiah!' and they will fool many people. Mat 24:24 For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible Mar 13:6 Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am he!' and they will fool many people. Luk 21:8 Jesus said, "Watch out; don't be fooled. Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, 'I am he!' and, 'The time has come!' But don't follow them.
It was clear to me then that it was God who led our paths to meet. Please uphold me in prayer for protection. Pray that God will reveal Himself as we continue with our John study. Pray for anointing from the Holy Spirit and discernment. That God will raise leaders among them who will be committed to following Jesus and serving Him only. Pray for their salvation and deliverance.

Gospel for the Catholic Group in Bakong

Not long ago I shared about the death of Christopher and Nanay Zaida in Sitio Gold River, Itogon community. The event became an opportunity to befriend Catholics for the Gospel. I came to know the Uya-an sisters and offered them a ride home. They also invited me to see their place. Simple conversation turned into the challenge of meeting every Sunday for a Bible study. ‘Til these days, we still discussed the topic of knowing who Jesus is from the Gospel of John. As a result, all members of the family who attended have prayed to accept Christ as Savior and Lord in the process.

As I came to know them, I didn’t see their source of water. I have learned that everyday they have to go down 150 meters below to fetch water and carry it through their head. They shared that their body became painful as they have to go up and down. They don’t have water for their plants and that they’re source of livelihood had been limited due to lack of water. Their main source of water is from the spring that’s 150 m down the mountain. Since that time, we prayed for God’s provision so they could pump the water up and construct water storage. We dreamed of building a water reservoir that could supply water to 50 people. With the visit of the Asian friends they gave us Php47, 000.00 for the water project. Praise God!! But still it’s not enough to buy a pump and construct water storage. Please pray that God will continue to pour in funds to complete the project. Pray that they will know God the source of living water and would commit few moments to read the Bible. Pray that God will raise leaders among them. Pray for one who have a good heart for God and loves to serve Him.
